Let’s talk about watch warranties.

When adding to your watch collection, FASHIONPHILE is undoubtedly a great place to start. Not only does that statement hold true because of our coveted selection of 100% authentic ultra-luxury watches, but our said selection is one of the most sought-after in the world. Humbly speaking *wink*

We carry vintage pieces and unique collections that you no longer can find in the primary market, styles that are truly one-of-a-kind like this Patek Philippe Tiffany Dial, and all-around gorgeous timepieces at various price points. Many of these come included with their original manufacturer’s warranty – and what better way to assert confidence in your purchase than with that included?

In the warranty world, there is so much to know. What is a watch warranty, exactly? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Here, we’re addressing some of the most commonly asked questions about watch manufacturer warranties and what they mean for you. Read on!

What Is A Watch Warranty & What Does It Cover?

A watch warranty is a layer of protection for you as a purchaser that covers any defects that the watch may exhibit that shouldn’t otherwise be present. Having one can give you more peace of mind when committing to a watch that you love. However, keep in mind that most watches under their specific manufacturer’s warranty do not cover damage or defects caused by the wearer – so be sure to handle your ultra-luxury watch with the utmost care.

A number of watches available right now at FASHIONPHILE still have the original manufacturer warranty included. Be sure to check the product page under the description to find out the warranty details and how long they’re good for!

How Long Do Watch Warranties Last?

When buying directly from the brand, warranties on designer watches typically last for a couple of years. On average, they’re good for about five to eight years, but that depends. The majority of Richmont brands (think IWC, Panerai, and Jaeger-LeCoultre to name a few), include an eight-year warranty. And other in-demand brands like Rolex and Omega, have warranties good for up to five years. They are working on improving their warranties (aka making them longer), in order to appeal to both new and returning customers.

Watch warranties are really great. In fact, they’re attached to the watch, not the owner. So when buying a pre-owned Rolex watch at FASHIONPHILE for example, you’d be covered as the new owner if that watch already came with a warranty. If this matters to you, definitely make sure to check our descriptions to find out if a warranty comes with it and is still in effect.
