The Juste un Clou story
First created in 1971 and originally referred to as the “nail bracelet,” the JUC bracelet as we know it today was reinvented in the 2000s and graced with the name “Juste un Clou” – genius. Over the years, the bracelet has undergone various interpretations. From expanding to other categories such as rings, necklaces, and earrings, to adding additional sizes and precious stones. The Juste un Clou Fit
An important insider tip to remember is that the Juste un Clou runs larger than the LOVE bracelets. If you measured your wrist already and know your LOVE fit, then all you need to do is select one size down for the perfect JUC fit. This is recommended to avoid the JUC turning over and possibly damaging the head of the nail, which ideally should sit comfortably on top of your wrist.
Metals & Sizes
Similar to the LOVE collection, the alluring Juste un Clou bangles are available in yellow gold, pink gold, and white gold, and come in two popular widths – the original and small (which is thinner). In addition, there is a third bracelet with a width wider than the original and the small, however, it is very rare – likely due to the hefty price tag that comes with it. We never had one come in before, but when we do, you’ll be the first to know. Regardless of the width, the JUC bracelets come available in sizes ranging from 14 – 21cm.
Paved vs. Non-paved Models
This refers to whether the bracelet is paved – i.e. covered with inlaid diamonds or non-paved – simply stunning on its own. Paved or non-paved is purely a personal preference. But it should be noted that both diamond versions have paved set diamonds, so when distinguishing between the two on our site, they are titled as the Diamond JUC (often with diamonds only at the head and tail of the nail), and the Pave Diamond JUC (also known as the Diamond-Paved JUC), which have diamonds all throughout the bangle.
Old vs. New Closure Mechanism
You may wonder how to open and close the Juste un Clou bracelet. You’re not alone. The new closure mechanism was released in 2017. The major difference is the new “button” clasp located underneath the nail head. When pressed, the button unlocks the bracelet. Diamond models with the current closure system also have more diamonds (yes). The tip of the bracelet now has 5 diamonds on each side (instead of 4), and an additional diamond on the nail head.
The “old” (or original) closure system has a push-lock style clasp that hooks into place, and releases by pushing down on the band. Diamond variations of the Juste un Clou bracelets with the “old” closure have fewer diamonds on the tip of the nail, as well as the nail head.
