Spring 2019: Milan Fashion Week Proves Some Things Never Go Out of Style

Milan’s motto? More is more. More carbs, more red lipstick, more prints, more accessories… this is especially true of the major Italian fashion houses. Can you recall a minimalist collection from Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Fendi? Nope. Never happened. For the Spring 2019 runways, Milan made good on its motto by delivering more of what we already know and love. For Dolce & Gabbana, this meant a fresh batch of purses in their classy-meets-quirky style. Versace showed up with bold prints and gold embellishments. At Fendi, logomania took center stage yet again.

The best part of this more, more, more mentality? There’s no reason to buy in-season; you can capitalize on the signature style of your favorite Milan-based brands right now (instead of waiting for Spring 2019) and for a fraction of the price (instead of paying top dollar).

If you love Dolce & Gabbana:

Dolce & Gabbana didn’t stray too far from tradition for their latest runway show. They stuck to their preferred colors–red, black, and white–and recreated some of their best-selling shapes–structured tote bags, embellished clutches, and novelty designs.

If you love Versace:

Donatella loves an action-packed runway, and so do we. Colored snake skins, striking patent leather, flirty florals, and, of course, Versace’s signature gold coin embellishments adorned the runway. Keeping on-trend, she uses a mix of all of these patterns to create the luxurious Versace look.

If you love Fendi:

Now’s the time to buy that Fendi logo Baguette bag you’ve been eyeing. The fashion house’s latest collection included bags, jackets, and shoes stamped with a capital F– Zucca is back, and we don’t think this trend is going away anytime soon.
